Classic worm gears without motor flange

Worm gears are inexpensive and produce high torques in a small space. However, their efficiency is lower than other gears, which leads to energy losses in the form of heat. However, this allows for a high level of self-locking in the gear, which means that a torque generated by the application that acts back on the worm shaft is braked or blocked by the gear. Classic worm gears are used when high torques are to be generated through high reduction ratios and/or self-locking is required.

Our worm gears come with an axis distance of 30 mm. In this size, you can choose between eleven single-stage gear ratios (i) from (7.5:1 to 100:1) :

The gear ratio (i) for worm gears is obtained by dividing the number of teeth on the worm gear by the number of inputs on the worm (usually 1), which for example for a worm gear with 30 teeth gives a ratio of i=30:1. Make sure that the gear ratio specified meets the requirements of your project.
